Ontario's universities are committed to accountability. They provide detailed information on their activities and offerings to students, their parents, government and the public. This new resource, produced by COU, provides easy access to this information.
Collectively, universities participate in several initiatives that provide information for students and their families to help them make informed education choices.
A wealth of information is available on the Ontario Universities' Application Centre, eINFO and CUDO web sites.
As well, the Ontario Universities' Fair, held each fall in Toronto, is a one-stop event offering secondary school students an opportunity to speak with representatives from universities across the province about programs and campus life. The Fair helps students make decisions about which universities to apply to.
Universities provide relevant information to the public and to the government to demonstrate that they make effective use of their resources. They prepare annual reports for their communities and their governing boards, including strategic plans, academic plans and business plans.
Universities also enter into signed accountability agreements with the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities, and provide numerous reports each year on the use of the funds the Ministry provides.
A wide range of reports and information can be found on each university's web site.
